    Our University of Cambridge Master's-level sustainability programmes equip current and future business leaders with an improved understanding of global sustainability issues and the ability to respond effectively.

    These University-accredited graduate courses are targeted at professionals in full-time employment, and the part-time courses range from a two-year Master’s degree in Sustainability Leadership, to shorter Postgraduate Certificates.

  2. Master’s in Sustainability Leadership

     

    Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership

    Designed for senior managers and leaders and delivered on a part-time basis over two years, this Master’s course is the University of Cambridge's postgraduate degree in sustainable business. A combination of leading academics and senior practitioners deliver essential insight, analysis and horizon-scanning of critical social, environmental and economic trends, and help students to research and develop robust strategies to embed sustainability within their organisations. Together, they explore how business, government and civil society are future-proofing themselves and responding to these complex challenges and opportunities to reconcile profitability and sustainable business.

    Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business (PCSB)

    PCSB is the University of Cambridge Master’s-level programme in sustainable business. Much more than a sustainable business training course, through a part-time eight-month programme it equips senior and mid-career professionals and managers with cutting-edge knowledge and insight to integrate sustainability thinking into business practice. By moving beyond corporate social responsibility training, the course looks at how successful business and sustainable development can be integrated, bringing about positive change.

    Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Value Chains (PCSVC)

    PCSVC is the University of Cambridge Master’s-level programme in sustainable value chains. Our new part-time nine-month programme equips senior and mid-career professionals and managers with the knowledge and practical skills to improve the way in which cross functional teams across organisations and beyond can collaborate and work together to develop appropriate responses to risks and opportunities associated with value chains. It also enhances their ability to build effective relationships, develop the awareness and capacity of colleagues and stakeholders, and influence others across the value chain.

    The strength of our Master’s-level programmes in sustainable business lies in the combination of academic rigour as an accredited University programme, with an emphasis on practical application and action.  

    With access to cutting-edge interdisciplinary thinking on sustainability from leading Cambridge academics and other thought-leaders, the aim is to build the capacity of professionals to bring about positive change for sustainability within their organisations.

    The Postgraduate Certificate is administered by CISL, whilst the interdisciplinary Master of Studies programme is offered in association with the Departments of Architecture, Engineering, Geography, Land Economy and the Judge Business School

Who would benefit? Those who wish to develop and formalise their credentials as sustainability professionals, advisers, entrepreneurs or consultants. Those who wish to gain a broad and action-oriented introduction to sustainability in a business context. Those who wish to improve their ability to respond to sustainability-related risks and opportunity associated with value chains.
Duration and format • Part-time over 2 years
• (24 days residential in Cambridge via 4 workshops)
• Part-time over 8 months
• (8 days residential in Cambridge via 3 workshops)
• Part-time over 9 months
• (8 days residential in Cambridge via 2 workshops)
Course emphasis Specific leadership responses to address complex sustainability challenges and opportunities in a business context, and building leadership capacity to think creatively, holistically and systemically. Responding to sustainability challenges and opportunities in mainstream business practice and ‘real-life’ industry contexts Equipping individuals and teams to respond to sustainability challenges and opportunities experienced by organisations seeking to embed sustainability principles across their value chains.

Fees  £8,750 per year (£17,500 total), plus a mandatory College Fee, excluding travel, accommodation or subsistence. 2014 College Fees are yet to be confirmed, but are likely to be in the region of £1,000–£1,500 per year (i.e. £2,000–£3,000 in total). £7,000 which includes all teaching fees, learning materials and accommodation for the three Cambridge residential workshops.
