Sydney Senior Executives Seminar 2011
The 2011 Sydney Business and Sustainability Programme, held in Q Station, Manly, Sydney, explored the latest environmental, social and economic data and trends and the role of Australian business and public sector.
Two of the world’s most prominent business and sustainability thinkers, Paul Gilding, author of ‘The Great Disruption’ and Jørgen Randers, author of the ‘Limits to Growth’ hosted delegates from companies, such as ANZ, Fonterra, Fujitsu, Goodman Fielder Corp., Lend Lease, Rio Tinto, and Stockland, government agencies and civil society organisations for four days in Manly, Sydney.
"Excellent programme – well-structured and presented with a wealth of knowledge from the presenters and delegates."
With thought-provoking inputs from the faculty, expert contributors such as Alan Kohler, Graeme Pearman, and Julian Cribb, and company case studies such as InterfaceFlor and Fonterra, the group discussed the practical implications and scenarios from the latest data and analysis on social, environmental and economic trends and the role of Australian business, public institutions and NGOs.
With the background of the recent carbon tax and the global financial crisis, participants explored the feasibility of renewable energy technologies and paths, the dynamics of global and local food systems, the role of China, and shared powerful insights on how Australian companies and organisations can integrate, innovate and communicate effectively on their sustainable business imperatives.
"Probably it is in the top two most significant
events I have been to in terms of changing
the way I think about what I do."
