Participation is by invitation only, although anybody is welcome to nominate a senior colleague. Upon receipt of the Application & Nomination form a Selection Committee vets the applications/nominations to ensure a balance between industry sectors, and between business, NGOs and government.
2011 Seminar: Profitability and Sustainability – Conflict or Convergence?
The 2011 European Business and Sustainability Programme, held in the beautiful Abbaye de La Ramée outside Brussels, explored the relationship between profitability and sustainability – conflict or convergence.
Delegates from firms such as BP, Cemex, Coca Cola Enterprises, MillerCoors, RWE npower, Shell International and Skanska explored system pressures and trends, the role of business, and case studies of leadership and action over four days.
European Parliament Dinner
The programme included a dinner debate in the European Parliament held by the EU Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change and Chris Davies, MEP.
Jos Delbeke, Director General, DG CLIMA, European Commission, Morten Bæk, Deputy State Secretary for Climate & Energy from the Danish Government and ten Members of the European Parliament debated the feasibility of the European Commission’s Roadmap for moving to a low carbon economy in 2050 with representatives from Alstom, CEMEX, European Investment Bank and Philips.
