CPSL's executive education has an international reputation for drawing together leading thinkers to achieve system change at national and international levels. We offer an international perspective with world-class faculty and contributors from academic, policy and practitioner circles.
All our seminars convene a wide delegate mix. Collaborative learning is actively encouraged, so that learners benefit from others’ experience, while at the same time sharing the challenges and dilemmas facing their own organisations. Our aim is to equip the learner with insights to take back to the organisations in order to develop individual solutions.
In order to ensure our seminars are effective, we underpin their design with research studies in learning, leadership and organisational change. Many of these studies have become well-known in their own right.

"Our senior management team have all benefited from the
Business & Sustainability Programme's
Senior Executive Seminars and are all active alumni. At a personal level, since attending the Business & Sustainability Programme's Senior Executive Seminar in 1996 I have increasingly done whatever I can, through the
Corporate Leaders Group
and other bodies to encourage the wider business community to work with Government to facilitate more rapid change in this arena."
Chief Executive Officer, Johnson Matthey
"I have over-achieved my objectives. This is an outstanding leadership programme."
"The BSP event gave me an extraordinary insight into the world's capacity to improve the lives of its people and a telling insight into the activities and initiatives that will characterise the future of corporate sustainability. It also allowed me to take stock of what HMRC had to do to embed corporate responsibility into its business plans and be the responsible employer contributing to environmental conservation and sustainable development."
Chief Operating Officer Tax Credit Office, HM Revenue and Customs
"This was a fantastic experience. Great programme, great staff and great fellowship."
President, manufacturing company, Atlanta BSP seminar
"Stretched my perspective of the issues and how our businesses could start to engage with them."
"First class, thank you. Variety, activity, quality, clear framework."
"Probably the best seminar I’ve attended, very relevant and practical."
"Balancing short term economic success with the longer term development of a more sustainable approach to business is challenging. Creating the space for business leaders and other stakeholders to come together via the CPSL has enabled those who participate to develop better solutions than if we'd worked in isolation. Developing and implementing our 100 point eco plan, Plan A, stretched us all here at M&S. Participation in groups such as CPSL reassured us we are not alone, helped us test the robustness of our ideas and learn from others. There is so much still to be done to create a sustainable society and economy, but groups like CPSL give us a fighting chance of achieving this goal!"
Head of Sustainable Business, Marks and Spencer
"The BSP was a brilliant forward-thinking concept that has engaged many senior business leaders in the subject. We now understand the issues and are uniquely equipped to use our privileged positions to make a real difference."
Regional Director, Vodafone
"This programme has had a significant impact on my career direction over the last five years. It was the catalyst for igniting my passion for how business can be successful, profitable and yet environmentally sustainable. I was really impressed by how the programme presented a view on the environment different to most I had heard, and in particular, the perspective of how businesses could make a difference and still be viable. The programme also strongly challenged us to take a personal leadership stance around the environment and encouraged getting into real action. I left inspired."
Chief Executive Office, BP Wind and Solar
"My attendance in the program has created an enduring passion for the purpose of our work on the planet. I am able to bring this passion to my work and community each and every day."
Vice President & General Manager, Dupont
"It was certainly a wonderful learning experience, which helped me realise how critical it is for mankind to behave very differently in terms of energy demand, and very differently in terms of how the energy is generated and supplied. Perhaps even more valuable was the opportunity to share experiences, challenges and concerns-in my own business going forward. I made a number of personal commitments to do just that."
Group Board Director, Halcrow Group
"Fantastic programme – has opened my eyes and helped reframe the issues in my mind. I now have a communication platform on sustainability – which will be powerful as I return to make an impact with my own business."
Managing Director, real estate company, Atlanta BSP seminar
"Working in electricity generation, and running a small sustainable energy charity, I already thought that I was alive to the issues of sustainability and climate change. The seminar however had a profound effect on me. In addition to the time to absorb more about consequences and possibilities, I encountered for the first time senior business leaders trying to make the business case for sustainability. It came home to me that people may act individually, governments may legislate, but only business has the power to work through the economic systems and bring about a sustainable future."
Managing Director Central Networks, E.ON UK
